I’m in San Diego hanging out with my good friend Vicky Beeching find Vicky’s blog here who is in the studio recording her new album. We’ve been having a blast… we’ve laughed so much, slept so little, talked so much and generally enjoyed ourselves immensely! And, of course, we’ve been listening to Pink all week as we drive around in Vicky’s rented Silver PT Cruiser (I feel so at home…)
I’ve also been able to hang out with Mindy Godfrey who I got to know last year at a Youth Specialities conference in Sacramento. Mindy came to Spring Harvest at Minehead for a week this year which was absolutely lovely…
Mindy also sorted out a bunch of meetings with the guys from YS for me – thanks Min you’re a legend! YS run the main conferences for youth workers here in the USA – they are doing such a great job. It was great to spend a few hours sharing stories and our wisdom about doing events. We also talked about how to create resources which equip people for ministry.
Later today we get to hang out with my mate Andy Marin who runs the Marin Foundation and does some amazing work bridge building between the church and the GLBT community. He’s written an amazing book called ‘Love is an Orientation’ which is inspirational… and a must read!
Gonna go now; I want to listen to these sweet vocals and amazing songs…
Here are some more photos from the album. Enjoy!
Can’t believe you’re having sooooo much fun without me – I officially submit my request to come on the next trip!
